Sanchoy Das

Title: "Data Models for Evaluation and Analysis of Hospital Operations Productivity"

Sanchoy Das, Ph.D. is Professor and Director of the Healthcare Systems Engineering program at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. These programs combine an academic program and an active research group. He has worked extensively with a range of hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, and physician groups and is affiliated with NJ-HITEC a major US Healthcare IT Innovation center housed at NJIT. Additionally, he is Director of NJIT’s China graduate program located at the Beijing University of Technology campus. His research has been published extensively in leading journals and his research sponsored by many agencies including the National Science Foundation, US Department of Energy and US Army Research Office. He has received many awards including the Special Achievement in Education Award from the Healthcare Planning and Marketing Society of New Jersey (HPMSNJ), Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from IIE, Outstanding Young Engineer Award from SME, and University Excellence Award from NJIT. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Virginia Tech.

Dursun Delen

Title: "Current State-of-the-Art in Health Care Analytics: An Experiential Perspective"

Dr. Dursun Delen is the holder of William S. Spears and Neal Patterson Endowed Chairs in Business Analytics, Director of Research for the Center for Health Systems Innovation, and Professor of Management Science and Information Systems in the Spears School of Business at OSU. Prior to his appointment as an Assistant Professor at OSU in 2001, he worked for a privately-owned research and consultancy company as a research scientist for five years, during which he led a number of decision support, information systems and advanced analytics related research projects funded by federal agencies, such as DoD, NASA, NIST and DOE. Dr. Delen’s research has appeared in major journals including Decision Support Systems, Communications of the ACM, Production Operations Management, among others. He has recently authored six books/textbooks in the broad area of Analytics. He is often invited to national and international conferences for keynote addresses on topics related to Analytics, Data/Text Mining, Business Intelligence, Health/Medical Informatics, and Knowledge Management. He currently serves as associate editor-in-chief, associate editor and editorial board member on nine technical journals. He is the recipient of a number of prestigious research and teaching awards including the Regents Distinguished Teaching Award (2013), the Regents Distinguished Research Award (2012) and the President’s Outstanding Faculty Award (2012).

Ilker Kose

Title: "Two Applied R&D Projects in Health Insurance Domain in Turkey"

Ilker Kose is the R&D Director of CGM Turkey for the last 5 years. During this position, he’s been managing 6 R&D projects funded by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) and different software projects in health insurance domain. Prior to his position, he worked for Ministry of Health of Turkey as the World Bank Consultant for 6 years. He was the Project manager of a couple of nation-wide eHealth projects such as National Health Information System (NHIS or Saglik-NET), Family Physician Information System and National Central Hospital Booking System, etc. He was one of the editors of the first National Health Data Dictionary of Turkey, which was written with respect to the ISO/IEC 11179-4. Besides, he is one of the pioneers of the usage of HL7 V3 in Saglik-NET Project in 2009 in Turkey.

Besides his private and public sector experience, he’s been working as a lecturer in Istanbul Medipol University for the last 4 years and giving lectures about health informatics and decision systems. Finally, his ongoing PhD study is about the Fraud & Abuse Detection in Health Insurance Systems, and he has 5 proceedings on eHealth and health insurance domains.
